Egepak was founded in 1992 in Izmir for the sole purpose of cube sugar production. However the production of cube sugars continued for 2 years and the market conditions forced Egepak to pursue production of other products. After extensive research, Egepak decided to go into diabetic and diet sugar production.
In 1994, a 50% low calorie sugar was first introduced to Turkish market, followed by Fructose, unrefined cane sugar and other diabetic sugar products.
In 2010, new multi-purpose sweeteners with prebiotic fibers were introduced (Formtat and Recelmiks) for diabetic and diet seeking consumer market.
Egepak products are mainly distributed through national supermarket chains throughout Turkey.
