Based on simplest design this solar thermal system doesn't require any electric connection to work. The tank is set higher than the collector and is near to each other. It rises up and gets collected in the tank when the water in the collector gets heated. Cold water inside the tank being heavier goes down in the collector. This cycle continues naturally till whole water in the tank is heated.
